Big
D’s Whiskey Runner
Dennis & Dawna Reed bought this half completed ’40
Chevy coupe that had been started at Tim’s Hot Rods.
It
needed an engine and transmission as well as wiring and
plumbing. Dennis basically wanted a “whiskey runner”,
a car that handled well, but he wasn’t too worried about
paint and such.
We
found a fuel injected Chevy 350 truck motor with a 4L80E
transmission that was in great shape. With a little RBI
magic it got shoe horned in and it runs like a dream.
Firewall
forward is all new running gear. A mustang II front suspension
gives with antique the handling it needed.
Vintage
air A/C, cleaned up the dash with electronic gauges and
a nice tilt column to round it out.
